2. Workshop for conservation

Date: 30 & 31 October 2017 (2 days)
Time: 9am - 7pm
Google Malaysia office at level 20, Axiata Tower, KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur
Capacity : Max 50 participants (attendance for both days are mandatory)

Cost: Attendance is free

Who should attend?: This workshop is intended for nonprofits. Ideal participants will meet one or more of the following requirements:

  • Currently employed at a nonprofit or working on a public benefit project.

  • Demonstrate ability to implement and make effective use of Google mapping technology within their organization.

  • Currently working on mapping projects, or have datasets to map.

  • Possess technical experience in one of the following areas:

    • Google Earth, Maps or Earth Engine

    • GIS experience

    • Web/multimedia development

    • Programming for Google Geo APIs

  • Possess training experience and intend to train others within their organization or in the larger nonprofit community on Google mapping technology.

Deadline for application : 30 September 2017 (You will be notified of your acceptance by 9 October 2017)

Additional Details:
  • To ensure an effective hands-on experience, there will be a limited number of seats, so we may not accept every applicant.  

  • Preference will be given to applicants who meet one or more of the requirements stated above.

  • By attending this event and accepting any gifts which may be offered, you certify that you are able to do so in compliance with applicable laws and the internal rules of your organization. The value of food and other gifts provided at this event is under RM60 per person per day.
